Healthful treats

I got these to use as treats since they have some potential for wellness benefits. One of my dogs initially refused to take these out of my hand, but if I set them on the ground next to him, he would eat them. Now he will take them from my hand as he does with other treats. My other dog loves everything edible, so she has gobbled these right up from the start. The treats do not have a strong smell (if anything, they smell like cooked carrots) and do not require refrigeration. Each chew is about the size of 8 stacked pennies. They are soft, so even dogs with few/poor teeth should have no problem eating them. They can also be cut up for dosing smaller pets and/or putting into puzzles and toys. (If you try to break them, they crumble a bit and the pieces come out uneven, so I would stick to cutting if you don’t want to give a full chew.)I can’t say for sure if these have helped my dogs’ eyesight as both pooches refuse to read aloud from an eye chart, but I am hopeful that the antioxidants, minerals, and other natural ingredients will help their overall eye health.The two canisters I received in February 2024 have a “best by” date of November 2025. The dosing is 1 chew daily for under 25 lbs, 2 chews daily for 26 – 75 lbs, and 3 chews daily for 75+ lbs and the manufacturer recommends you start with half the recommended dose and gradually increase to the suggested amount. For my two dogs in the 26 – 75 lb range, these two 90 count containers (180 ct total) will last about seven weeks.
