A game changer for reptile maintenance

I regularly use chlorhexadine when cleaning my reptile and amphibian enclosures, so when I saw these I thought they’d be perfect for the small cleanups between larger enclosure maintenance days.I have many crested geckos, among other animals, and my biggest complaint is their proclivity for pooing on the glass … and trust me, nothing looks grosser than a drippy doo running down the front of an otherwise good-looking display. These pads are perfect for those little surprises.They’re thin, which is nice as I don’t feel quite so much eco-guilt over the single use aspect. But they do the job. There’s a bit of a texture to help scrub tougher spots and they’re loaded with the perfect amount of solution. No dripping pads, no having to add more moisture. These are frankly a game changer. So easy to store beside the tanks, easy to grab one when needed. My geckos have never looked so good.

Easy to use not scented

These chlorhexidine with ketoconazole wipes are ready to use right out of the canister. They have texture to them and are thin. I appreciate that they are not scented and mostly odorless.Each round pad is about 3 inches in diameter and just the right size for her. She doesn’t seem to run away from me when cleaning her which I attribute to her not being able to smell anything significant when I approach her with these. (She typically runs away like crazy when I try to apply flea and tick treatment as she can smell it coming!)

Wipes are good quality and generously sized

The ingredients in these wipes should be good for fighting skin infections in wrinkles and skin folds. This is a large container of wipes that are generously sized at 3″ and sufficient quality to do a good job scrubbing the skin fold and applying the medication.I don’t know if they will dry up toward the end of the bottle, but initially they seem sufficiently saturated. There is not a strong medicinal smell and they do not seem to sting when applied.I think these wipes are convenient and simple to use and that encourages me to follow through and use them.

Chlorhexadine (chd) wipes

These wipes are palm-sized and sufficiently moistened. There’s a smooth side and a quilted side. The container shows there’s 2% chlorhexadine in them, but they have a very low odor. I’ve used other brands with the same ingredients, but actually smelled medicinal. I don’t know if that means this product has little or no chd, or if the 1% ketoconazole is the dominant scent? Whatever the case, my dog hates it and doesn’t lick her paw right after I clean it with the wipes. Maybe it’ll work.
